Our DELTA youth drop-in space and cafe opens Monday to Thursday 3.30-5.30pm and Friday
3.00-5.00pm during term time, at 71 High Street, Ilfracombe (opposite the Co-op).
DELTA is for secondary school aged young people. Our activities and food are provided at no cost to them.
DELTA IS AN OPEN SPACE EVERY WEEKDAY
(term time) for a 2 hour drop-in session with free food and activities, homework support and generally a comfortable space for young people to hang out with their friends and the team.
YOUNG PEOPLE CAN:
* increase their sense of being part of the Ilfracombe community
* explore who they have been created to be
* have conversations about what is significant in their lives and what will be significant in their future.
LIFE IN ALL ITS FULLNESS
Our young people have so many fantastic qualities. They are creative, passionate, resilient, and so much more and we want to continue to invest in them and support them in reaching their full potential.
Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full"
OUR DELTA VALUES
Hope, Kindness, Courage, Integrity, Trust, Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
HOW WE BE is our positive behaviour culture, modelling the behaviour we expect and encouraging the behaviour we want to see:
BE KIND
BE GENEROUS
BE RESPECTFUL
BE INCLUSIVE.
Fun day with the arrival of a calf to Delta!
We have opted for a British fresh water nature theme in support of current projects around fresh water that the National Trust are involved in.
Karly is our DELTA manager. She grew up in Ilfracombe and began her youth work journey as a young leader at the Baptist church youth group and as a peer mentor in what was then Ilfracombe College. Karly trained with SWYM (South West Youth Ministries) whilst working for the Teign Valley Youth Project in South Devon. After training, Karly worked for a church in Bristol. Returning to Ilfracombe, Karly was a teaching assistant at the Academy.
Karly is mum to two young children and is a vibrant and enthusiastic leader of the DELTA team. She is a natural leader and full of enthusiasm for delivering good quality youth work. She says, 'I believe God loves our young people, and that he made them uniquely and with a purpose. They have amazing gifts and passions, and I believe that their lives are so valuable. It is my desire and passion to see young people empowered to live life to the full by realising their worth and flourishing by exploring their gifts and passions.'
The safety and well-being of the young people is our priority. Sheila is part of our volunteer team at Delta and also an ICE Ilfracombe trustee.

DELTA works because of the amazing team of volunteer supervisors and helpers who are committed to spending time at the drop in space. Every member of the team brings something unique - humour, creativity, enthusiasm and dedication and so much more.
All the workers and volunteers seek to live out our DELTA values as we model them to each other. Every volunteer wants to see the young people in our town flourish.
Everyone on the DELTA team has had an Enhanced DBS check.
